As North Dakota moves forward with the implementation of Infinite Campus, a student information system (SIS), several questions have emerged from educators and administrators regarding the transition process.

One area of interest concerns the grade calculation methods available within Infinite Campus. According to recent updates, detailed information on standards-based grading rubrics is accessible online at Analyze Scores - Standards-Based Grading (Rubrics) | Infinite Campus.

There has also been inquiry about whether student records will transfer seamlessly between tribal Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) schools using NASIS Infinite Campus and North Dakota public schools. The answer provided states: "Yes—if both schools participate in the National Records Exchange (NRE). This Infinite Campus tool allows records to be exchanged among participating Campus districts nationwide. Districts must first register in the NRE before they can send or receive data. Any Campus district may participate, even if they are not connected to a Campus State Edition."

Regarding training for users transitioning to Infinite Campus, it was explained that training follows a structured, three-phase model: "Phase 1: Learn – Self-paced foundational content via Campus Passport (available anytime). Phase 2: Apply – Live, interactive workshops with hands-on practice. Phase 3: Refine – Personalized support through strategic coaching and district-specific sessions. This flexible approach offers ongoing, role-specific training through on-demand resources, live events, and customized instruction, so you can learn when it works best for you." The statement continued: "This approach ensures that training is ongoing, flexible, and accessible, allowing you to engage when it works best for your schedule. Rather than relying on fixed dates, Infinite Campus offers multiple opportunities to learn and apply new skills—whether through on-demand content, live events, or customized instruction."

Infinite Campus emphasized its commitment by stating: "Infinite Campus is committed to providing role-specific, actionable training that aligns with your needs at each stage of implementation."

Questions have also arisen about when Local Education Agencies (LEAs) will gain access to different site types within Infinite Campus. The response indicated that LEAs will have access to various environments—including Training, Trial, and Sandbox sites—at different stages of implementation for learning and testing purposes.

The current project schedule outlines that initial engagement between Infinite Campus and LEAs is set for early October 2025. At this time, Infinite Campus will assemble the LEA implementation teams and provide contacts with access to the Campus Passport’s on-demand training content. Although direct access to the training site will not be available immediately at this meeting, LEA members can begin exploring features of the SIS. Access to dedicated training sites is scheduled during Training Plan Meetings typically held in March.

Currently available resources for LEAs include an online landing page featuring demos of the SIS and premium products as well as registration for live SIS demonstrations lasting approximately 60 minutes. There are also knowledge base articles and videos tailored by user role.

Following their initial meeting with project leaders later this year, team members will receive additional support materials such as searchable knowledge bases within the Campus Community platform and personalized learning plans via Campus Passport.
