The Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) has announced a series of upcoming events and training opportunities for educators, school staff, and related professionals throughout September and October 2025.

The AOE Regulatory Compliance Team will offer webinars on state and federal procurement on September 11 and September 16. Both sessions will cover the same material but are scheduled at different times to accommodate participants. Additionally, a session on Uniform Guidance and Federally Required Policies and Procedures is set for September 25. Details about October trainings will be distributed via the business manager listserv and the AOE weekly field memo by mid-September.

Vermont Public, in partnership with PBS KIDS, is introducing “Weather Hunters,” an animated series designed for children in kindergarten through second grade. The show aims to encourage young viewers to explore weather phenomena. The premiere is scheduled for September 8, 2025, across broadcast, digital platforms, and games.

Educators interested in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) can attend the 2025 VTPBIS Annual Forum on October 14 at the Killington Grand Resort Hotel. The event will feature workshops focused on social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health supports within the PBIS framework. Registration is open until September 30.

A new workshop titled “Cultivating Classrooms for Connection, Growth, and Engagement” will take place on September 23 in Montpelier. This program is intended to help educators implement evidence-based classroom practices that foster positive learning environments.

The agency also announced a virtual Behavioral Threat Assessment (BTA) introductory training on September 3. Conducted by national experts in school behavioral threat assessment, this training fulfills annual requirements under Act 29 of 2023 for current or prospective BTA team members.

The Governor’s Annual School Safety Conference will be held in person at the Killington Grand Resort Hotel on October 28. Organized by the Vermont Agency of Education alongside other state partners, this event brings together school safety professionals—including administrators, law enforcement officers, first responders, and mental health professionals—to share best practices and resources.

For those working in family engagement roles within schools or community organizations, the Family Engagement Networking Series begins its first session of the year on September 11. These informal virtual meetings aim to support collaboration among family engagement coordinators by sharing updates and discussing strategies relevant to building relationships within school systems.
