Defending Education (DE), a national grassroots organization, has signed a letter supporting the removal of discrimination and affirmative action plans in apprenticeship programs. The group advocates for non-political education and opposes race and sex-based discrimination in federally funded and regulated initiatives, including education, employment, and apprenticeship opportunities.

According to DE, its membership is made up of parents, educators, and students from across the United States who are committed to securing equal protection under the law. The organization works through coalition building, investigative reporting, civil rights complaints, litigation, and community engagement to challenge what it describes as harmful agendas in schools.

"DE fights indoctrination in classrooms and on campuses in order to promote the establishment of a quality, non-political education for all students," the organization stated. "DE’s membership includes parents, educators, and students throughout the country who oppose race and sex-based discrimination in all federally funded and regulated programs, including education, education-related employment, apprenticeship programs, and contracting. DE and its vast membership seek to secure the promises of Equal Protection for all Americans."

The move comes amid ongoing debates over affirmative action policies nationwide. Defending Education’s involvement reflects its continued focus on advocating for changes it believes will ensure fairness in educational opportunities.
