Louisiana schools will observe Celebrate Freedom Week from September 15 to 19, 2025. The annual event is held each September to coincide with Constitution Day and Constitution Week. Its goal is to promote civic understanding and constitutional literacy among students in the state.

During Celebrate Freedom Week, schools will deliver lessons on the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and other key historical documents. These activities are intended to help students understand both their rights as Americans and their responsibilities as citizens.

The Louisiana Department of Education has provided guidance and instructional resources online for teachers during this week.

To mark America’s 250th anniversary alongside Celebrate Freedom Week, the Louisiana Department of Education is partnering with the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Institute and the City of Covington to host a statewide student oratory competition. Students from across Louisiana will participate in state finals on September 16 in Covington, which features the world's largest Reagan statue. Two winners will advance to nationals at the Reagan Presidential Library in California.

Celebrate Freedom Week was established by Act No. 370 during the 2022 Regular Session. The law states: "Each September, in conjunction with Constitution Day and Constitution Week, each public school shall observe Celebrate Freedom Week. As part of this observance, the public school governing authority shall ensure that all students receive age and grade-appropriate instruction, in a social studies or other appropriate course, on topics related to freedom. Such topics may include but are not limited to instruction related to the nation's founding and the intent, meaning, and importance of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, including the Bill of Rights."
