Cade Brumley, Superintendent | Louisiana Department of Education
The Louisiana Department of Education is inviting educators from across the state to submit proposals to present at the Teacher Leader Summit 2026. The event will be held from May 26 to May 28, 2026, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
The window for submitting presentation proposals opens on October 15 and closes on December 5. Guidelines for submissions will soon be available on the Teacher Leader Summit webpage.
Educators in various roles—including classroom teachers, school leaders, early childhood professionals, and system staff—are encouraged to share their strategies and experiences at the summit. According to the Department, "Big ideas start with educators just like you. Whether you're a classroom teacher, school leader, early childhood professional, or system staff member, your insight and experience can help move Louisiana education forward. Presenters will have the opportunity to share effective strategies, spark new thinking, and shape what’s next for students and fellow educators."
To assist those interested in presenting, two live informational webinars will be held on October 15 at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Access links are provided on the Teacher Leader Summit webpage, and recordings will be made available afterward on the TLS 2026 Playlist.
Teacher Leader Summit is described by the Department as Louisiana’s main professional learning event for educators. Each year, thousands of participants use part of their summer break to develop skills and collaborate with peers statewide to improve student achievement. The summit offers sessions for a wide range of education professionals serving students from birth through grade 12.
