Governor Josh Shapiro, along with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Secretary Mike Carroll and Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger, is scheduled to visit Erie's Bayfront Parkway on October 17, 2025. The officials will make an announcement regarding the Shapiro Administration's investments in Erie and provide an update on ongoing infrastructure improvements led by PennDOT.
The administration reports that since Governor Shapiro took office, more than $25.6 billion in private sector investments have been secured across Pennsylvania, resulting in the creation of over 12,500 jobs.
Other participants at the event will include Roger Richards, Governor's Appointee to the Erie County Convention Center Authority Board; T.J. Sandell, President of the Great Lakes Building and Construction Trades Council; Mayor Joe Schember of Erie; and Representative Patrick Harkins from Pennsylvania’s 1st House District.
The event will take place at 6 Sassafras Pier in Erie at 11:00 AM. It will be available for live streaming at pacast.com/live/gov and governor.pa.gov/live/. Members of the press who wish to attend are required to RSVP with their contact information.
