Josh Shapiro, Governor | Pennsylvania Government
Governor Josh Shapiro has announced that Eos Energy Enterprises will invest $352.9 million to move its headquarters from New Jersey to Pittsburgh and expand its manufacturing operations in Allegheny County. The company, which produces zinc-based battery storage systems, expects this project to create and retain a total of 1,000 jobs, including 735 new positions.
The state government will provide $22 million in grants and capital funding to support the relocation and expansion. Governor Shapiro said this initiative strengthens Pennsylvania's position as a center for clean energy manufacturing and innovation.
Governor Shapiro stated, "Under Governor Shapiro's leadership, Pennsylvania is the only state in the Northeast with a growing economy - attracting nearly $26 billion in private-sector investments and creating more than 13,200 new jobs since he took office."
Speakers at the announcement included Eos Energy CEO Joe Mastrangelo, employee Raynisha Addison, Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato, USW District 10 Director Bernie Hall, DCED Secretary Rick Siger, and Stefani Pashman, CEO of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
