Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Dr. Debra Bogen and Insurance Commissioner Michael Humphreys are scheduled to visit See-Right Pharmacy in Harrisburg to discuss the updated COVID-19 vaccine and its availability for the current respiratory virus season. During the event, both officials will receive the updated vaccine.

The Shapiro Administration has recently taken steps to provide Pennsylvanians with accurate and clear information about vaccines. Governor Josh Shapiro signed an executive order earlier this month to protect access to vaccines for residents. In addition, the Department of Health issued new guidance to help healthcare professionals and the public make informed decisions about vaccination.

The updated COVID-19 vaccine is designed to offer protection against severe illness caused by new variants circulating this season. U.S. medical societies and healthcare providers recommend that everyone aged six months and older receive the vaccine.

Most insurance plans include coverage for the COVID-19 vaccine at no cost to the patient. For those who are uninsured or underinsured, the vaccine is available through local State Health Centers and Federally Qualified Health Centers.

The event will take place at See-Right Pharmacy, located at 2647 North 6th Street in Harrisburg, on Thursday, October 23, at 11:00 AM. Secretary Bogen and Commissioner Humphreys will receive the updated vaccine during the event.

Members of the media interested in attending are asked to RSVP with their names.
