Claire Woeppel of the Chambers FFA Chapter in Nebraska has been elected as the Central Region Vice President for the 2025-26 National FFA Officer Team. Her election was announced during the final session of the 98th National FFA Convention & Expo held in Indianapolis. Woeppel is the first person from Nebraska to hold a national FFA office since Brennan Costello served as Central Region Vice President in 2012–13.
Sarah Heideman, FFA State Advisor at the Nebraska Department of Education, commented on this achievement: “This is an incredible moment for Nebraska FFA and a tremendous honor for Claire and her family. Claire embodies the dedication, leadership, and passion that Nebraska’s agricultural education programs strive to instill in every student. We know she will represent the Central Region with distinction and inspire thousands of FFA members across the country to achieve their full potential.”
Woeppel joins five other officers from different states on this year’s national team. The group includes National President Trey Myers from Oklahoma, National Secretary Lilly Nyland from Michigan, and vice presidents representing other regions.
The selection process involved 37 candidates who went through interviews conducted by the National FFA Officer Nominating Committee before delegates made their final decision.
During their term, national officers are expected to travel throughout the United States to meet with students, teachers, corporate partners, and government officials. They will also lead training conferences focused on personal growth and leadership development for members nationwide while helping set organizational policies.
The National FFA Organization reports continued growth in its membership numbers. Currently, it has more than one million student members spread across over nine thousand local chapters in all U.S. states as well as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
