Wes Moore Governor | Maryland Department Of Education
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is set to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Judy Center Early Learning Hubs. The event will recognize the contributions of U.S. Rep. Steny H. Hoyer and honor the memory of his late wife, Judith P. Hoyer, who was an advocate for early childhood education.
State Superintendent Dr. Carey M. Wright, State Board of Education President Dr. Joshua Michael, Governor Wes Moore, elected officials, and education leaders will attend the celebration to reflect on and reaffirm Maryland’s dedication to early learning.
Judy Center Early Learning Hubs are school-based programs designed to improve school readiness by connecting families with early education, health services, and other support resources. There are currently 51 Judy Centers operating in all 23 Maryland counties as well as Baltimore City, serving about 18,000 children.
Dr. Carey M. Wright stated: "The event will bring together State Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carey M. Wright, State Board of Education President Dr. Joshua Michael, Gov. Wes Moore, elected officials, education leaders, advocates, and educators for reflection and reaffirmation of Maryland’s commitment to early learning."
The anniversary event is scheduled for Thursday, November 6 at Rosa L. Parks Elementary School in Hyattsville.
