Josh Shapiro, Governor | Pennsylvania Government
Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding and Labor & Industry Secretary Nancy A. Walker are scheduled to present the 2025 Farmworker of the Year awards at an event in Aspers, Adams County. The ceremony will take place at the Adams County Nursery on November 13 at 1 p.m., with PA State Council of Farm Organizations President Kimberly Paley also participating.
The awards aim to recognize outstanding frontline farm and food-processing employees who contribute significantly to Pennsylvania’s agriculture sector. This year, three workers from Montgomery and Adams Counties have been selected for their dedication and impact. These honorees were nominated by their coworkers and represent a workforce of nearly 600,000 people supporting Pennsylvania's $132.5 billion agriculture industry.
Governor Josh Shapiro has emphasized the importance of agriculture and its workforce as central to the state’s economic prosperity, with ongoing investments designed to maintain growth within this sector.
“Since taking office, Governor Josh Shapiro has recognized the agriculture industry and its worldclass workforce as key to our state's economic prosperity, investing to keep Pennsylvania agriculture growing and leading the nation.”
