Austin A. Davis 35th Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania | Pennsylvania Department Of Education

Governor Josh Shapiro, along with Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, Department of Revenue Secretary Pat Browne, legislative leaders, and community partners, will gather to discuss the new Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit included in the recently signed state budget. The tax credit is designed to provide $193 million in relief for nearly one million working residents across Pennsylvania.

The 2025-26 state budget introduces a new credit equal to 10 percent of the federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). Under this measure, anyone who qualifies for the federal EITC will automatically receive both credits when filing taxes next year. The initiative aims to reduce tax liabilities and increase refunds for those who need it most.

Participants at the event include Governor Josh Shapiro; Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis; Department of Revenue Secretary Pat Browne; House Speaker Joanna McClinton; Senator Patty Kim; Representative Christina Sappey; Representative Justin Fleming; and Heidi Neuhaus, Director of the Volunteer Center at United Way of the Capital Region.

The event is scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Widener Law Commonwealth & Central Pennsylvania Law Clinic in Harrisburg. A live stream will be available at pacast.com/live/gov and pa.gov/governor/live.
