Attorney General Dave Sunday is set to announce the launch of the Office of Attorney General's Elder Exploitation Section, an initiative aimed at expanding services for seniors and strengthening enforcement against those who target older Pennsylvanians. The announcement will take place at the Capitol Media Center in Harrisburg on November 18, 2025.
The event will bring together legislative leaders, community partners, and advocates to discuss ongoing efforts to support seniors across Pennsylvania. According to organizers, the new section will build upon existing protections and resources for older residents.
Attorney General Sunday will be joined by Jason Kavulich, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Aging; Wendy Spicher, Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities; Senator Wayne Langerholc Jr.; Representatives Maureen Madden and Steven Mentzer; Teresa Osborne from AARP; Michael Jacobs from the Pennsylvania Health Care Association; William Roland from VFW Department of Pennsylvania; Roseanne Milanes from SeniorLAW Center; Stephanie Shantz from NOVA; as well as Chuck Quinnan and Austin Cawley from LeadingAge PA.
Organizers emphasize that raising public awareness about elder exploitation remains a key priority. They note that everyone has a role in protecting older Pennsylvanians from scams and abuse.
Credentialed media planning to attend are required to RSVP with the Office of Attorney General. The event is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m., with media access starting at 11:30 a.m.
