Austin A. Davis 35th Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania | Pennsylvania Department Of Education
Governor Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis have announced that US Durum Products LTD, the leading couscous manufacturer in the country, will invest over $8 million to expand its manufacturing operations in Harrisburg, Dauphin County. The project is expected to create and retain a total of 64 jobs over the next three years.
US Durum will move from its current site in Lancaster County to a larger facility it has purchased at 523 South 17th Street in Harrisburg. The company plans to modernize by adding new equipment and technology, which will help increase production volume and improve supply chain efficiency.
Governor Shapiro stated, "Pennsylvania is one of the top states for business and is the only state in the Northeast with a growing economy - that's why companies like US Durum are doubling down and reinvesting in the Commonwealth. From historic investments in site development to cutting red tape and recruiting companies to move and grow here, our strategy is working. I will continue to make strategic investments to further improve our economy, create new jobs, and provide real opportunity for Pennsylvanians."
The announcement included participation from Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis, Secretary of Community and Economic Development Rick Siger, Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding, Senator Patty Kim, Representative Dave Madsen, as well as Said Chergui, President & CEO of US Durum Products Ltd.
