The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) has released the At-A-Glance School and District Profiles for the 2024-25 academic year. These profiles provide comparisons between schools, districts, and statewide averages in areas such as student attendance, assessment results, ninth-grade progress toward graduation, on-time graduation rates, and five-year completion rates.
According to ODE, the latest data show that the percentage of ninth graders on track to graduate is at its highest level since tracking began. The report also notes continued improvements in student attendance following declines during the pandemic period; however, overall attendance remains below pre-pandemic levels. Gains were observed among kindergarten students and those in foster care. Additionally, proficiency rates increased by 1 percentage point in third grade English Language Arts and by 2.1 percentage points in eighth grade math based on state test results reported earlier this year.
Governor Tina Kotek commented on the significance of these findings: “Dedicated, focused, creative educators change students’ lives and keep them on track to graduate. At-A-Glance School and District Profiles give us a window into how our schools and districts are doing. Together, we can build towards an Oregon where every student realizes their promise.”
ODE Director Dr. Charlene Williams emphasized the role of these profiles as a tool for improvement: “These profiles are an important tool that help us understand how our students and schools are doing; where we’re making progress, where we can do better, and how we can continue refining the ways we serve communities across the state,” she said. “Ultimately, this data is not just something to report—it’s an opportunity to respond. It’s a chance to continue implementing the strategies we know are effective and to adjust where needed, so every Oregon student can thrive. ODE will continue to focus on supporting programs that make a difference.”
The department also updated its Oregon Online Report Card with new dial features designed to enhance transparency and ease of use for parents and families looking up school or district performance data for 2024-25. The updated platform now automatically displays key indicators such as regular attenders, English Language Arts (ELA), math scores for elementary/middle schools; additional metrics like college-going rates appear for high schools.
Metrics at both district and state levels have been aligned with standards established through SB 141 legislation. The online system allows users to compare individual school performance against district-wide or statewide averages efficiently using visual dials.
The updated report card currently includes graduation and completion data from the class of 2024; further updates with spring 2025 figures will be added in January 2026 alongside public reporting requirements.
