Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, First Lady Lori Shapiro, and Army Maj. Gen. Michael E. Wegscheider are set to launch Pennsylvania's involvement in the Trees for Troops campaign this year. The initiative aims to provide fresh, Pennsylvania-grown Christmas trees to U.S. service members and their families.

Trees for Troops is a national program that delivers free Christmas trees and personal holiday messages to military personnel through donations, sponsorships, grants, and volunteer efforts. Since its inception in 2005, the program has distributed over 309,000 Christmas trees to military families and deployed service members at bases across the United States and abroad.

The event will take place on Friday, December 5 at 11 a.m., at Bustard's Tree Farm in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Jay Bustard of Bustard's Christmas Trees will also participate in the kickoff event.

Members of the press who wish to attend are asked to RSVP with their news outlet information.
