Governor Josh Shapiro has announced that Farm Plast, a manufacturer specializing in sustainable injection molded milk crates and containers, will invest $8 million to open its first manufacturing facility in Pennsylvania. The new plant will be located at 100 Sherman Street in Muncy Township, Lycoming County, repurposing a previously vacant 200,000-square-foot building. The project is expected to create 69 jobs over the next three years.
Farm Plast’s expansion into Pennsylvania is aimed at increasing production capacity and introducing several new product lines. This move aligns with ongoing efforts by state officials to attract business investment and promote job growth.
"Under my leadership, Pennsylvania is now one of the top states for business - and the only state in the Northeast with a growing economy. That's why companies are choosing to invest and grow in our Commonwealth," said Governor Shapiro. "With historic investments in site development, a commitment to cutting red tape, and an aggressive approach to recruiting companies to locate here, our strategy is delivering real results. We'll keep making smart, strategic investments to strengthen our economy, create jobs, and expand opportunity for every Pennsylvanian."
Speakers at the announcement included Eric Lomak, Brent Vernon, Secretary Redding, Senator Gene Yaw, Lester Marshall (Plant Manager at Upstate Niagra Dairy), and Tony Lomak.
