Preparing for the ACT or SAT tests is a right of passage for any high school student who plans on attending college, but this year, all public schools in Texas have been closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the ACT/SAT exams were canceled.

Two universities in South Texas are adapting to the consequences of the pandemic by dropping the requirement of ACT and/or SAT test scores for admission, according to the Caller Times.

The Texas A&M campus in Corpus Christi said it will not require scores for these tests as long as they remain unavailable to students.

The Texas A&M campus in Kingsville also said the tests will not be required for 2020 summer and fall admissions, according to the Caller Times.

Students who apply to either of these universities will need to go through an individual review process if they do not have ACT or SAT test scores.

This review process will include the student's academic achievements, community service, extracurricular activities, and other factors.
