Allen Independent School District issued the following announcement.
Forty-eight Allen High School musicians were selected by Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Region 25 to play in one of the five All-Region Bands. Around 1,600 students competed for 391 spots. Additionally, 10 Allen students advanced to the area audition in January to land a spot in one of the Texas All-State Ensembles.
Students competed for spots in an all-region band against schools from Princeton ISD, Plano ISD, Lovejoy ISD, Wylie ISD, Denison ISD, and Sherman ISD. The students played a series of prepared etudes before a panel of judges through two rounds of auditions in a virtual setting.
