Report: New Berlin School District spent $10,187 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at New Berlin Community Unit School District 16 was up 15.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Sangamon County school district spent $8,849 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,187 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 940 to 935 students over the same period.

New Berlin's spending in 2019-20 was 29.7 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
