Report: Bement School District spent $12,189 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Bement Community Unit School District 5 was up 14.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Piatt County school district spent $10,637 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $12,189 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 335 to 287 students over the same period.

Bement's spending in 2019-20 was 15.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
