Report: Gurnee School District spent $13,758 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Gurnee School District 56 was up 8.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Lake County school district spent $12,720 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,758 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,141 to 1,966 students over the same period.

Gurnee's spending in 2019-20 was 5.1 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
