Report: Galesburg School District spent $10,820 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Galesburg Community Unit School District 205 was up 24.8 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Knox County school district spent $8,670 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,820 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 4,542 to 4,204 students over the same period.

Galesburg's spending in 2019-20 was 25.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
