Report: Brooklyn School District spent $16,856 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Brooklyn Unit School District 188 was down 14.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Saint Clair County school district spent $19,627 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $16,856 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 143 to 159 students over the same period.

Brooklyn's spending in 2019-20 was 16.3 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
