Report: Winchester School District spent $9,866 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Winchester Community Unit School District 1 was up 9.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Scott County school district spent $9,000 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,866 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 659 to 604 students over the same period.

Winchester's spending in 2019-20 was 31.9 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
