Report: Mount Vernon School District spent $15,632 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Mount Vernon Township High School District 201 was up 7.2 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Jefferson County school district spent $14,580 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $15,632 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,231 to 1,157 students over the same period.

Mount Vernon's spending in 2019-20 was 7.9 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
