Report: Opdyke Belle Rive School District spent $15,212 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Opdyke Belle Rive Community Consolidated School District 5 was up 71.3 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Jefferson County school district spent $8,878 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $15,212 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 186 to 125 students over the same period.

Opdyke Belle Rive's spending in 2019-20 was 5 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
