Report: McHenry School District spent $15,400 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at McHenry Community High School District 156 was up 30.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Mchenry County school district spent $11,789 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $15,400 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,318 to 2,146 students over the same period.

McHenry's spending in 2019-20 was 6.3 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
