Report: Orion School District spent $9,527 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Orion Community Unit School District 223 was up 0.5 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Henry County school district spent $9,476 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $9,527 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 1,088 to 976 students over the same period.

Orion's spending in 2019-20 was 34.3 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
