Report: Zeigler-Royalton School District spent $10,835 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Zeigler-Royalton Community Unit School District 188 was up 22 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Franklin County school district spent $8,878 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,835 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 620 to 560 students over the same period.

Zeigler-Royalton's spending in 2019-20 was 25.2 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
