Report: Herrin School District spent $8,751 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Herrin Community Unit School District 4 was up 1.9 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Williamson County school district spent $8,589 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,751 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 2,528 to 2,431 students over the same period.

Herrin's spending in 2019-20 was 39.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
