Report: Payson School District spent $8,473 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Payson Community Unit School District 1 was up 1.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Education Daily Wire analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Adams County school district spent $8,328 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,473 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 553 to 529 students over the same period.

Payson's spending in 2019-20 was 41.5 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
