National PTA has announced that Senator Susan Collins and Representative Lucy McBath are the recipients of its 2025 Congressional Voice for Children Award. This accolade is given in recognition of their leadership and dedication to improving education and well-being for children across the nation. The award will be presented during the National PTA's 2025 Virtual Legislative Conference on March 4.

Yvonne Johnson, president of National PTA, said, "From fighting for funding to support students with disabilities to policies to protect children and teens online, Senator Collins and Representative McBath are true voices on Capitol Hill for our nation’s young people." She further commended them for their advocacy efforts.

Senator Collins has been active in supporting public school improvements and advocating for children's welfare. Her efforts include co-sponsoring the Kids Online Safety Act and promoting after-school educational programs. "It is a great honor to receive National PTA’s 2025 Congressional Voice for Children Award," said Senator Collins, highlighting her commitment to ensuring quality education regardless of students' backgrounds.

Representative McBath, a member of the House Education and Workforce Committee, focuses on student safety and opportunities. She supports gun violence prevention measures and increased funding for family engagement centers. "Speaking up for our children is what brought me to Congress," she remarked upon receiving the award.

The conference will feature workshops and meetings with Congress members, aiming to enhance advocacy skills among attendees. Nathan R. Monell, CAE, executive director of National PTA, emphasized the importance of raising voices for every child's potential.

National PTA is a nonprofit association dedicated to children's educational success and family engagement in schools. Membership is open to anyone interested in making a difference in children's education, health, and welfare.
