AFT President Randi Weingarten has responded to remarks made by Elon Musk on social media. In her statements, she addresses the criticisms Musk directed at her and educators nationwide.

Weingarten claims that "the world's richest person is targeting me and other teachers because we are fighting for vital federal education programs that help families and students." She argues that the attacks stem from a desire for tax cuts benefiting the wealthy, adding, "Stop taking money from poor kids and kids with disabilities."

She further criticized Musk's behavior online, comparing it to an "angry toddler" and expressing concern over his actions as a prominent business leader. Weingarten stated, "This behavior wouldn't even fly in our classrooms, so it shouldn’t fly for billionaires running our government."

The comments were shared on Bluesky following Musk's remarks on X.

Randi Weingarten is the President of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), with Fedrick C. Ingram serving as Secretary-Treasurer and Evelyn DeJesus as Executive Vice President.
