State Superintendent Ryan Walters has announced the ten finalists for the 2025 Oklahoma Teacher of the Year. The recognition is aimed at educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching. The winner will be revealed at the InspireOK event scheduled for July.
“These educators exemplify the passion and excellence that define Oklahoma’s teaching community,” stated Superintendent Walters. “Their dedication to their students and schools is truly inspiring, and I am proud to recognize their hard work and the lasting impact they make every day.”
The finalists are Shelly Austin from Cushing High School, G. Bruce Riggs from Claremore High School, Paula Caudill from Collinsville Upper Elementary, Jennifer Meyer from Grove Elementary, Melissa Lytle from Bixby North Intermediate, Chrystal Reis from LW Westfall Elementary, Shaunda Usry from Robert E. Lee Early Childhood Center, Lauren Draper from Tuttle Middle School, Stacey Barker from Merritt Elementary, and Melissa Evon from Elgin High School.
