The Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) has introduced a new Federal Updates page aimed at keeping Vermonters informed about federal changes impacting districts and students. The page will be updated regularly with new information. "The Agency aims to be disciplined, thoughtful, and factual when evaluating and responding to changes in federal policy," stated the AOE.

In addition, the Governor’s Office is seeking a student representative for the State Board of Education. This position is open to rising sophomores and juniors for a two-year term. Applications are due by April 28, 2025. Questions can be directed to AOE.EDInfo@vermont.gov or EXE.Appointments@vermont.gov.

An informational webinar was recently hosted by AOE regarding their Facilities Dashboard feature. The session provided basic insights into the dashboard's capabilities and can be accessed on YouTube or through the Agency's website.

A training session titled "Dispute Resolution with Cassie Santo" scheduled for early April has been canceled. Future scheduling updates will appear in upcoming memos.

AOE’s Student Pathways Division invites educational staff to attend office hours focused on integrating Early College into the Dual Enrollment system. No pre-registration is required for these sessions occurring on April 3.

For educators teaching prekindergarten through grade two, Vermont Public offers digital literacy resources designed for young learners. Teachers can subscribe to a monthly newsletter from PBS KIDS or explore additional resources online.

A tool named "Specialized Service Providers: Making Connections with VTmtss" has been developed to help schools enhance collaboration with Specialized Service Providers (SSPs). It aims to raise awareness and expand access to SSP services across schools.

Finally, the AOE has prepared a draft application packet for IDEA Part B funds, which is open for public comment until May 9, 2025. Feedback should be sent to AOE.SpecialEd@vermont.gov before this date.
