Khan Academy will continue offering its artificial intelligence platform, Khanmigo, to New Hampshire educators and students in grades 5-12 for another school year. This service has been available at no cost since June 2024, following a statewide contract with the nonprofit organization.

Jason Hovey, Director of School Partnerships at Khan Academy, stated, "I am excited to announce that, in partnership with the New Hampshire Department of Education, we will be extending Khan Academy Districts support for New Hampshire school districts through the 2025-2026 school year at no additional cost." He emphasized the state's role as a pioneer in ensuring AI's effective use in education with a focus on safety and improving student learning.

The extension allows participating districts from the current school year to receive an additional year of access to Khanmigo. This AI-based tool serves as both a tutor for students and a teaching assistant for educators. It supports subjects like math, English Language Arts, science, and SAT preparation.

Districts not yet involved are encouraged to join by enrolling before June 30. The process is free and can be initiated on Khan Academy's website.

Frank Edelblut, Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Education, remarked on the evolving challenges posed by AI: "As AI continues to evolve, both teachers and students will face new challenges. Educational leaders understand that as technology progresses, learning must adapt responsibly." He noted that currently 50 districts are utilizing Khanmigo's resources to aid nearly 5,000 educators and 40,000 students statewide. Edelblut expressed hope that more districts would participate in this initiative.
