The Nevada Department of Education has released its revised pre-K–12 Nevada State Literacy Plan. This document is intended as a comprehensive guide aimed at enhancing literacy outcomes for students throughout the state, updating the previous version from 2015.

"Our North Star remains clear: Every Nevada student must graduate with the literacy skills necessary for success in the real world," stated Jhone Ebert, Superintendent of Public Instruction. "This plan is a critical step forward in our mission to improve literacy outcomes, and we call on schools, families, and the community to unite in this effort."

The revised plan lays out components of a comprehensive literacy approach, supported by an increase in state funding and the Acing Accountability initiative. It emphasizes targeted strategies, research-based instruction, and a structured path to achieve measurable progress in literacy proficiency.

As part of the updated Nevada State Literacy Plan, Nevada has outlined three ambitious goals focused on improving literacy instruction across all grade levels.

For those seeking more information or access to the revised plan, it is available online at doe.nv.gov/offices/office-of-teaching-and-learning/literacy.
