The Vermont Agency of Education (AOE) has released several updates relevant to educators, administrators, and families in Vermont. These updates cover new resources and announcements across various educational programs.
The AOE has introduced the "new Personalized Learning Plans Manual: A Framework for Implementation." This manual provides updated guidance on Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs), highlighting their importance in college and career planning and integration into curricula. Each section of the manual aligns with the Series 2000 – Education Quality Standards, which will be effective on July 1, 2025. The Ready for Kindergarten SY2024-2025 Report is now available for superintendents, principals, and kindergarten teachers. The report offers statewide and supervisory district-level data on children's readiness as they enter kindergarten. The Vermont School Safety Center is hosting monthly "Emergency Operations Plan Office Hours" on every third Thursday from 12-1 p.m. These sessions will offer guidance on developing and maintaining Emergency Operations Plans, with an upcoming focus on a shelter-in-place annex. For those involved in Behavioral Threat Assessment (BTA) teams, office hours are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, providing guidance on BTA policies and tools. The Family Engagement Networking Series for 2024-2025 invites family engagement coordinators, school administrators, and others to participate in discussions on strategies for supporting families and students during transitions. Vermont high schools are encouraged to join the Adult Diploma Program, providing adult education students with diploma access.
