The Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission (PHMC) and Northern Lancaster Chamber of Commerce gathered to mark a significant milestone in Pennsylvania's agricultural history. The Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum celebrated its 100th anniversary with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, highlighting its importance in representing the state's agricultural past and future.
Andrea Lowery, Executive Director of PHMC, joined other distinguished guests, including Lisa Graybeal from the Department of Agriculture and Liz Ackerman, Executive Director of Northern Lancaster Chamber of Commerce, at the event.
"PHMC is honored to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum," Andrea Lowery stated. She emphasized the museum's growth from "the Landis brothers' vision" into "a national treasure," underscoring its role in preserving Pennsylvania's agricultural heritage. Lowery expressed a commitment to supporting the museum's continued development and educational mission for future generations.
The commemoration attracted a notable list of speakers, featuring Liz Ackerman, Shawn Gladden, Site Administrator of the museum, Melissa Mann from the Bureau of Historic Sites & Museums, Lisa Graybeal, Andrea Lowery, and Stephen Ranck from Congressman Lloyd Smucker's Office.
