The Confidence in Kansas Public Education Task Force has named 100 Kansas schools as recipients of the 2024 Challenge Awards. Since 2002, more than 2,000 awards have been distributed to schools throughout the state.
These awards highlight schools for exceptional student achievements based on the Kansas Assessment Program results in math and reading. Special emphasis is given to schools helping students from ethnic minority groups and those eligible for free and reduced-price meals. The evaluations also consider graduation rates for high schools and chronic absenteeism rates for middle and high schools. These metrics demonstrate student progress despite significant challenges.
