The Pennsylvania State Police have announced that their patrol troopers are now outfitted with body-worn cameras at every station across the state. This initiative, completed ahead of schedule, equips troopers with cameras to record interactions with the public and updates the mobile video recorders in their vehicles.
"Our ability to maintain efficient operations relies heavily on the trust placed in us by the communities we serve," said PSP Commissioner Colonel Christopher Paris. "With the completion of our body-worn camera rollout, we aim to strengthen that trust by documenting our public interactions and demonstrating our commitment to transparency, accountability, and respectful police services."
The initiative involved equipping more than 3,000 troopers at 89 stations across 16 troops with the new cameras. Additionally, upgrades were made to the mobile video recorders in over 1,400 patrol vehicles.
The speakers at the announcement included Sgt. Logan Brouse and Commissioner Colonel Christopher Paris.
