The Board of Regents has taken disciplinary actions against 32 licensed professionals, resulting in the surrender of 4 licenses and other penalties for misconduct in the fields of nursing, dentistry, engineering, and more. Additionally, the Board reviewed one restoration petition.
Among those surrendering their licenses was Michael Adeleke, a Licensed Practical Nurse from Waterbury, CT, who was convicted of third-degree rape. Another nurse, Nerraw Akbar Black, Jr. from Rotterdam, NY, surrendered his license after admitting to diverting narcotics. Social worker Renee Sharon Hoberman also surrendered her licenses due to inability to defend against charges of child pornography distribution.
In dentistry, Thomas J. Fallon, a dentist from Sarasota, FL, agreed to a consent order with penalties including a two-month suspension and a $1,000 fine. The professional service corporation JB Levine DMD, P.C. in New York City also agreed to a consent order, resulting in a $1,000 fine.
Jeffrey Earl Tennyson, a professional engineer in Chestertown, NY, received an indefinite suspension until he is free from alcohol abuse, followed by probation. Landscape architect Christopher Michael Crowley of Port Washington, NY, was fined $2,500 alongside other penalties.
Numerous nurses were subjected to disciplinary measures. Notably, Tamara S. Sisilli, found guilty of professional misconduct, faced indefinite suspension. Stacia Moss, among others, received stayed suspensions and probation terms.
In pharmacy, Jin Xiao Chen was fined $10,000 and received suspension as part of a consent order, while Madina Drugs Corp was fined $3,000.
Public accountants also faced penalties. Peter D. Willner was fined $2,500 under a consent order, and MSPC Certified Public Accountants & Advisors P.C. received a censure and fine.
Respiratory therapist Ryan Anthony Lewis had a year-long actual suspension imposed as part of disciplinary actions.
In social work, Colin Christian Vesterfelt received penalties alongside a probationary period following an agreed consent order. Meanwhile, veterinary technician Rhonda Lee Hasto faced suspension and probation.
A restoration application for Shaheen Begum's pharmacist license, which was previously revoked, was denied by the Board.
