Governor Josh Shapiro, alongside Hershey Company officials and Pennsylvania legislators, is set to open a new Hershey manufacturing plant in Dauphin County. This marks the first new plant the company has established in Hershey in more than three decades. The project, facilitated by the Shapiro Administration's expedited permitting processes, will provide jobs for over 125 workers.

Governor Shapiro's administration has been prioritizing economic opportunities across Pennsylvania by improving government efficiency. A focus on collaboration between Commonwealth agencies and reforming the state's permitting procedures is intended to accelerate business operations.

The ceremony will feature attendees such as Hershey CEO Michele Buck, Congressman Scott Perry, Senator Patty Kim, Representative Tom Mehaffie, Dauphin County Commissioner Mike Pries, and Derry Township Supervisor Natalie Nutt. The event is scheduled for April 16, 2025, at 10:45 AM, located at the Hershey Manufacturing Plant on Reese Avenue.

A live stream of the event will be available for those unable to attend, and members of the press planning to be present must RSVP through the provided contact emails.
