Six New Hampshire high school seniors have been named semifinalists in the 2025 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. This program is one of the highest honors for graduating seniors in the United States.

The semifinalists are Charles J. Anderson from Portsmouth High School, Rahma A. Ibrahim from Li Po Chun United World College in Brookline, Roxane Park from Phillips Exeter Academy in Bedford, Vedant Patil from Nashua High School South, Meera Rajendran from Salem High School, and Avishant Gupta Ullal from The Derryfield School in Hollis.

Frank Edelblut, Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Education, expressed his appreciation: “I am thrilled to celebrate this incredible group of seniors who have gone above and beyond in their high school journeys. These students have stood out not only for their academic excellence, but also for their creativity, leadership and dedication across the arts and Career and Technical Education programs. Their energy, talent and hard work make them outstanding representatives of New Hampshire, and we’re proud to see them recognized as semifinalists for such a prestigious program.”

The semifinalists from New Hampshire are part of a select group of students nationwide acknowledged for their achievements in academics, leadership, the arts, and involvement in school and community activities as well as career and technical fields. Finalists will be chosen by the Commission on Presidential Scholars, and the U.S. Department of Education will announce the Scholars later.
