The Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) is in the process of creating a new strategic plan aimed at shaping the future of education in the state. To ensure the plan meets the needs and goals of Nebraskans, the NDE invites input from stakeholders through focus groups from April 14 to May 7.

The strategic plan will serve as a guiding framework for the State Board of Education and the NDE, outlining key priorities and strategies to improve educational outcomes for all students in Nebraska. The department emphasizes the importance of involving the community to ensure the plan reflects diverse perspectives, including those of educators, parents, students, and community leaders.

The focus groups are intended to provide participants with a platform to share insights, experiences, and ideas on various education-related topics in Nebraska. The NDE encourages people from all backgrounds to join and contribute to this significant planning effort.

Details about the focus groups, including dates, times, and locations, as well as registration information, are available on the Nebraska Department of Education's website at https://education.ne.gov/commissioner/2026-strategic-plan/.

The NDE assures that it remains committed to transparency and public engagement throughout the strategic planning process, and that all feedback received will be thoroughly considered in finalizing the plan.
