Dr. Brian L. Maher, Commissioner | Nebraska Department of Education
The Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) has announced the establishment of a new state chapter of the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN), named CoSN Nebraska (CoSNE). This formation received support from the NDE and the Educational Service Unit Coordinating Council (ESUCC) as affiliate members. The official announcement took place at the CoSN national conference in Seattle.
CoSN Nebraska aims to provide support to school and district technology decision-makers. It plans to focus on leadership development, professional networking, and collaboration on vital topics such as cybersecurity, infrastructure, and strategic planning. This new chapter targets Nebraska’s chief technology officers, chief information officers, technology directors, and aspiring leaders in the technology field.
CoSNE intends to work alongside the existing instructional technology community in Nebraska, rather than compete with it. Bryan Dunne, President of CoSNE, stated, "Our focus is on the people making critical technology decisions for school systems. We’re excited to create a space for those leaders to connect, share ideas, and work together on the unique challenges we face in Nebraska."
