The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) initiated the 2025 Criminal Justice Advisory Board (CJAB) Conference in State College. The two-day event saw the participation of more than 530 professionals from the criminal justice and behavioral health sectors across the Commonwealth, marking the largest attendance since the conference began in 2007. During the event, attendees explored discussions focused on both new and recurring issues affecting their fields, as well as innovative solutions to tackle emerging trends.

Under the Shapiro-Davis Administration, Pennsylvania has reported improvements in public safety. According to information provided by CeaseFirePA, the state has experienced a 42% reduction in total victims of gun violence statewide and a 38% decrease in gun deaths by firearm since 2022. These statistics highlight the effectiveness of coordinated efforts across law enforcement, behavioral health and criminal justice professionals, community groups, courts, and policymakers.
