Austin A. Davis 35th Lieutenant Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania | Pennsylvania Department Of Education
Lt. Gov. Austin Davis will join local leaders to discuss significant investments in northwestern Pennsylvania at a news conference on Friday, April 25, at 10 a.m. The event will take place at the Meadville Market House located at 910 Market St., Meadville.
This conference follows Gov. Josh Shapiro's recent announcement regarding the Shapiro-Davis Administration's investment in 81 community projects. Among these, three projects will take place in Crawford County, four in Erie County, and one in Warren County. These investments are part of the Main Street Matters program, which aims to rejuvenate downtown areas, assist small businesses, and strengthen the local economy.
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) administers Main Street Matters. The program has already received over 200 applications, requesting more than $43 million in funding, highlighting the high demand for such strategic investments in the state's Main Streets.
The event will feature Lt. Gov. Austin Davis alongside Crawford County Commissioner Christopher Seeley, Meadville Mayor Jaime Kinder, Meadville City Manager Maryann Menanno, and representatives from the Market Authority and Meadville Community Redevelopment Corporation.
