Governor Josh Shapiro took part in the Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition's Civic Commemoration of the Holocaust. This annual event honors the six million Jews and other victims who suffered under Nazi persecution.

The function, which gathers Jewish community leaders, elected officials, and relatives of Holocaust survivors, saw participation from key figures in Pennsylvania's political landscape.

Among the speakers were Jonathan Scott Goldman, Chair of the Board of Directors for the Pennsylvania Jewish Coalition, and Rabbi Carl Choper from The Jewish Home of Greater Harrisburg. Prominent members of Pennsylvania's legislature, including Devlin Robinson from the 37th District and Judith Schwank representing the 11th District of the Pennsylvania Senate, were also present.

Judith Kraines, Chair of the Planning Committee for the Civic Commemoration of the Holocaust, was part of the lineup. From the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, attendees heard from Jordan Harris of the 186th District, Jesse Topper of the 78th District, and Dan Frankel of the 23rd District.

Governor Shapiro delivered remarks during the commemoration. Esther Bratt, a Holocaust survivor, also shared her testimony. Leah Leisawitz, a student from Wyomissing Junior High School, and violinist Ben Smithers from Harrisburg contributed to the event's program.
